My name is Soren. I am a Watcher.

I wrote this book. I have been watching your kind for a very long time, and I decided it was time somebody wrote it down.

I know exactly how this book will reach you. When I have finished it, I will leave it on the kitchen table of one person, a stranger who knows nothing about me. I will tell her to read it, and then to show you. I cannot show you myself. And so she cannot pretend she misheard, I am writing it down for her here, on the first page:
